Eating Out in Guernsey

The island is spoilt for choice with an abundance of excellent restaurants from the exclusive to fine fish and chip shops. The French influence is still very evident. Lobster, crab, sea-bass and sole are considered to be specialities of the island. A local but now rare, shellfish delicacy the ormer is only found in Channel Island waters. Enjoy locally grown vegetables and fresh fish caught landed daily at St Peter Port. The range of eating places is vast from restaurants, hotel dining rooms, bar meals, coffee shops and cafes. This is just a selection of these.

Since July 2006, smoking has been banned in all public establishments. Many cafes, hotels and pubs in the Bailiwick of Guernsey offer some form of smoking area outside.
