The Guernsey Yacht Club extends a warm welcome to all visiting yachtsmen. The club house is
situated near Castle Cornet and is just ten minutes stroll from the Victoria Marina. The bars are open daily
serving lunches and snacks and have wonderful panoramic views across the harbour mouth and the islands beyond.
The excellent facilities include showers, changing rooms, baby change and disabled toilets. The
club house underwent a major refurbishment in 2001.
The club is expecting one of its busiest seasons ever with over 20 major events planned
including many fleets making a return visit and some new ones.
At the end of May, the Sigma 33 fleet will be taking part in the Guernsey Regatta. On 9th June,
the premier channel Islands event, the Dresdner Challenge will see 100 yachts taking part. The Melges 24 British
Open Championship will also be held in June and it is hoped that over 40 from overseas will join the six local
yachts. The Farr 40 Class Regatta will be one of the new events, scheduled for 9th - 11th August. This class of
yacht is regarded as the hottest around and the event featuring 20 of the yachts will be a warm up for the World
Championships in Cowes two weeks later. In August, they will hold the JOG Channel Islands Week Regatta which
celebrates their 50th anniversary. Over 120 yachts are expected to participate.
The club is open daily from 1000,serving lunches and snacks Monday to Saturday.
