"Sark the Movie" exhibition at the Visitor Centre
The magical island of Sark has on several occasions been a location for film-makers. Come along to the Visitor
Centre to see photos and articles from the making of 'Toilers of the Sea' (1936) 'Appointment with Venus'
(1951) 'Mr Pye' (1985) 'Bergerac' (1987) 'Islands of Britain' with Martin Clunes (2008) as well as some
stunning wild-life films by local film-maker Sue Daly.
7 Feb
An Evening of Magic and Illusions
Illusionist Steve Price will be performing at the Island Hall on Monday 7th February. Come and join him for a
magical evening, starting at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome, there is no charge except a retiring collection if you
are thrilled. The evening will be compered by Dave Cocksedge.

Carnival Cheque Presentation and Auction
Come along to the Island Hall and see how much money was raised by the Sark Carnival Committee in 2010. There
will be dancing too and an grand auction. Starts at 7pm with a hot meal and dessert at 7.30 pm. Tickets £17
from the Gallery Stores and the Island Hall.

Royal Wedding Celebrations
All the residents of Sark are invited to the Hall to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince William and
Catherine Middleton. Adults and quiet children are invited to watch The Wedding live on the big screen with
coffee and biscuits, starting at 10.30 a.m. From 2 p.m. til 4.30 p.m. join in the Family Street Party, and from
8 p.m. til midnight there will be Live Music and a Disco, with a buffet. All events are free to residents
(except for alcohol and soft drinks.

Sark World Aid Walk
This year Sark will be supporting Guernsey's well established 'World Aid Walk' event by holding a charity walk
on Sark on Bank Holiday Monday. Timings, routes and more details to follow soon.

Art for the Love of Sark
The international non-profit organisation Artists for Nature Foundation (ANF) is working with local artist
Rosanne Guille to make the island of Sark, its wildlife and people the focus of their Jubilee project. The
project will bring fifteen of the world's best wildlife and landscape artists to Sark in 2011 to work towards
highlighting our diverse and unique island with the aim of protecting it for future generations and visitors.
Their work will be exhibited on Sark, Guernsey and the UK and book and film will also be produced. More

Scarecrow Competition and Trail
The theme for this year's scarecrow competition is 'Legends'. Anyone can enter a scarecrow, just pick up an
entry form (£2) from the Sark Visitor Centre and have your scarecrow in place ready for judging by Friday 27th
May. There will then be a scarecrow competition trail, forms for this (£2)can be picked up at the Sark Visitor
Centre from the afternoon of Saturday 28th March, to be handed in by 10.15 am on Monday 6th June.

Sheep Racing Weekend
2011
The ever-popular Sheep Racing will take place over the weekend of July 22nd to 24th. Friday night is Party
Night with live music, including City Limits, from 7 p.m. Saturday starts with the Fancy Dress Parade from La
Colinette to the Millennium Field at 11.45 a.m. Racing starts soon after. The last race is around 4.20 p.m.
after which there will be more live music into the evening. Racing continues on Sunday. More details will be
given nearer the time.
