Channel Islands Stock Exchange

The Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX) is an internationally recognised on which international Mutual Funds and local companies are quoted (in many cases in addition to listings on major exchanges). The CISX is based in Guernsey and regulated by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission. The CISX has concentrated on the following:

  • Specialist Securities, including, Eurobonds, Structured Debt, Warrants and SPVs;
     
  • Investment funds;
     
  • Primary and secondary listings of securities and shares issued by Channel Islands' companies;
     
  • Primary and secondary listings of securities and shares issued by overseas companies; and
     
  • Channel Islands Depository Receipts (CIDRS).

The CISX was established in 1998 as a joint venture between Guernsey and Jersey to complement the existing range of services already available locally.

As of December 2004, the number of securities listed on the Exchange had increased to 581 with a market capitalisation of $54.6bn. Two local trading companies are listed, International Energy Group and Le Riche Group. Latest statistics from the CISX are as follows:

Trading is conducted every weekday (Monday to Friday) excluding public holidays on a continuous basis during normal trading hours of 9.00am to 4.30pm.
